We’ve been quietly working in the background to massively expand our local retention. With this upgrade we expect well over a year of retention. We’re also tweaking our erasure coding settings and will probably squeeze out another 10-20% of usable storage space when done. In addition, we plan to double our raw space again before we’re at capacity so that we can continue to grow our retention.

To celebrate, we’re offering our yearly unlimited account for only $43.80 (which is $3.65/mo * 12).. that’s more than 50% off!

We’ve have multiple reports of customers experiencing speed issues over the last 8 hours. After some investigation we located a bad network card in one of our front-end (customer facing) servers. We’ve removed this server from the cluster until a replacement card is installed. In addition, our instrumentation/monitoring has been adjusted to detect this issue much faster. All customer speeds should be back to normal at this time.

Merry Christmas everyone! To celebrate we’re offering our 500G block accounts at the low price of $5 until the New Year.
